Search or Browse Inventory

The following search forms are much more powerful than the search forms available at the respective listing services that host the inventory listings.  Many more options and helpful explanations have been included in these search forms to give them their greater power.  Drop down list box searching by classified subject category headings is forthcoming.

Matt Weber's black and white photographs and postcards of life in New York City, including those displayed in the shop, are available directly from the photographer at urbanphotos.

Currently, the inventory represented here is only a very small portion of our total inventory.  Please feel free to contact us about anything else you are seeking.

Search/Browse Book Ark Inventory Listed with the Advanced Book Exchange

Enter complete words such as 'Stephen' or use a trailing wildcard such as 'Ste*'

Enclose phrases in quotation marks to limit matches of the included words to those in order, next to one another.  Searches for "quick fox" will retrieve listings including 'quick fox' but not 'quick red fox'.  Unfortunately, due to an ABE indexing bug, phrase searching may fail to find matches where one of the words occurs more than once in the field being searched.

This search form is case insensitive.  There is no advantage to using Uppercase letters.  A search for 'stephen', just like a search for 'Stephen', will each retrieve listings inluding either 'stephen' or 'Stephen'.

This search form removes diacritical marks.  There is no advantage to using diacritics.  Searches for either 'Cézanne' or 'Cezanne' will find 'Cézanne'.

All fields are optional.  Include no more information in each field than is necessary for your search.  It is not necessary to include all the words of author's name or all the words of a title name to find the exact title.  Usually, one word from the author name, and the one or two least common words from the title are all the words necessary for a unique match to be retrieved.  Leave fields blank to browse listings.

Search/Browse Book Ark Inventory Listed with Amazon

Amazon used item listings are half broken by Amazon's own design along with frequent Amazon failures to report all results.  Use this search form only when the Advanced Book Exchange form will not work above.  Searches only cover the first 500 characters of a listing.  Searches for titles that were ever issued with an ISBN are restricted to author, title, and the next 200 characters.  Amazon has removed any additional characters from ISBN listings.

Enter complete words such as 'Stephen' not 'Ste'.

Phrase searching is not available.

This search form is case insensitive.  There is no advantage to using Uppercase letters.  A search for 'stephen', just like a search for 'Stephen', will each retrieve listings inluding either 'stephen' or 'Stephen'.

This search form and the listings returned remove diacritical marks.  There is no advantage to using diacritics.  Searches for either 'Cézanne' or 'Cezanne' will find 'Cézanne', but 'Cézanne' will appear as 'Cezanne' in the listings returned.

All fields are optional.  Include no more information in each field than is necessary for your search.  Seperate author and title fields are not available.  Authors and titles must be entered into the keywords field if needed for your search.  It is not necessary to include all the words of author's name or all the words of a title name to find the exact title.  Usually, one word from the author name, and one or two least common words from the title are all the words necessary for a unique match to be retrieved.  Leave fields blank to browse listings.
